What to do following an accident or damage to an aircraft?
5X5 is the first aviation insurance provider to leverage telematics to most fairly and effectively align risk with the price of the aircraft insurance policy.
By sharing aircraft avionics flight data, you are pioneering the future of aviation insurance, transforming a black box, subjective & antiquated insurance industry into a transparent data based experience. To participate, you agree to share each flight the insured aircraft is flown.
Pilots who fly often, train regularly, and fly safely are rewarded for their efforts.
What do I get if I share my data?
Pilots that opt in to share their aircraft avionics flight data during the application for insurance earn hull & liability insurance premium discounts, and they receive our most favorable liability limits. You are part of an elite group of pilots who are focused on safe flying and want to reduce the cost of aviation insurance and improve coverage options.
How does 5X5 use my flight data?
The flight data you share is run through the 5X5 analytics process and then aggregated with all customers to determine flight performance across insured aircraft. This information is used to identify areas impacting the safety of our customers and their aircraft.
Your individual flying data isn’t shared with anyone and is confidential to you. Your flights are combined with all of your flying over a long period of time and will be used to identify your frequency and amount of flying you are doing as well as any trends.
5X5 Insurance Services, LLC is not looking over your shoulder to find mistakes or be a ‘big brother’. The objective is to reward safe & proficeint pilots with the best insurance coverage and price available.
How do I participate in sharing my flight data?
If you have an aircraft equipped with modern avionics, such as Garmin, Avidyne, or Collins, that records flight data, you are a candidate for the safety program.
During the insurance application, answer ‘YES’ to the question “Are you willing to share aircraft flight data with 5X5?”.
Once you accept the insurance proposal (quote) and choose to bind coverage on your aircraft, you can configure how you will share each aircraft flight with 5X5. Visit our flight data sharing configuration page for details.
